Management and Maintenance of PV Installations

Management and Maintenance of PV Installations

Integrated Maintenance Services

The minimum services included and provided in a typical PV maintenance contract and in line with the requirements for the proper operation of PVs are the following:

  • Preventive maintenance of PV which includes one or two visits per year during which scheduled preventive maintenance work is carried out on the PV station and a technical report of actions, faults and proposals is delivered. All project systems are included, panels, bases, inveretres, cables, substation, telemetry, security and communication system.
  • Daily monitoring of the maintenance of the PV plant regarding its operation and performance, comparative assessment of the performance of several parks and their availability, using simple tools (portalsinverters) or specialized SCADA software in case of large volume or demanding projects. In the event of a malfunction, it is evaluated and intervenes directly in the project in order to restore it.
  • Specialized measurements related to the performance of the installation, such as equipment thermography, IV measurement of strings and/or panels, Riso measurements of wiring (AC & DC), grounding measurement, etc.
  • Emergency PV maintenance interventions in the event of a failure that is not due to local conditions (e.g. grid failure) and cannot be restored remotely. In this case and within an agreed time (usually 24 hours), a specialised workshop will attend the project and will determine the damage, restore it if simple spare parts are required or use the park's spare parts or inform the respective supplier if replacement of some material is required that is not covered by the factory warranty (e.g. low switch, communication board, camera, etc.)
  • Management of warranties - insurance coverage in case of damage, the diagnosis and processing of the claim with the manufacturer for the replacement of the equipment under warranty, or technical report and follow-up of the claim to the insurance company, in case either the material is out of warranty or the manufacturer does not exist.
